Que dire du pilates si ce n’est que depuis plus de quartre ans il fait partie de mon hygiène de vie. Bien que dans la cinquantaine, je me sens rajeunir. Je suis bien dans ma peau, j’ai de l’énergie, je suis positive, je suis en pleine forme, ma flexibilité se trouve améliorée, les petites douleurs s’estompent petit à petit, ma silhouette s’est transformée tant sur le plan postural que physique d’ailleurs beaucoup de personnes me demandent quel régime j’ai adopté…et c’est également sans compter le renforcement des abdominaux. Le pilates est devenu pour moi un bien-être tant psychique que physique. Au passage, un gros remerciement à Chantal  pour son dynamisme et son goût du travail bien fait.

Dans le dĂ©but de la cinquantaine, je dĂ©sirais amĂ©liorer mon tonus musculaire. Je travaille avec Chantal depuis deux ans, trois fois/ semaine. C’est un plaisir et c’est devenu un besoin! Chantal est vraiment compĂ©tente! J’ai confiance en elle et je sais que le Pilates qu’elle nous enseigne est porteur de rĂ©sultats concrets. On se tonifie, on se sculpte, on s’Ă©nergise! Chantal fait jouer de la musique et voilĂ  que c’est parti pour une heure! On travaille très fort mais dans la bonne humeur. Et ça, c’est un bonus!

BientĂ´t un an que je suis Ă©lève aux cours de pilates du studio Pilates Sur Mesure, et je me rends compte de plus en plus que Chantal a vraiment bien choisi le nom de son studio. En effet, mĂŞme si les cours sont des cours de groupe, on a vraiment l’impression d’avoir un cours privĂ©. Chantal, fine observatrice, nous connaĂ®t tous et toutes avec nos capacitĂ©s, nos limites, nos “bobos” (mal au genou, au dos, Ă  l’Ă©paule, etc..) et elle adapte ses exercises et son enseignement aux besoins de chacun. Cette façon de faire reflète bien la philosophie de Joseph Pilates qui adaptait les exercises Ă  la condition de ses patients. Chantal nous entoure, nous corrige, nous encourage et nous fĂ©licite tout au long du cours. Alors, mĂŞme si le cours en est un de groupe, ça ressemble plus Ă  un cours privĂ© en compagnie d’un groupe d’amis.

I wanted to write to let you know how much your pilates classes do for me – both spiritually and physically. You truly care about your clients and their well-being. You take the time to correct our positioning throughout the class, and you ensure that your classes are small enough to allow this kind of personal attention.

You remember who has what boo-boo and watch us to ensure that we are listening to and respecting our bodies. The music you play during the class encourages us to escape from our lives — if even for a short while — to focus completely on our bodies, our breathing and our well-being.

The setting of your classes is truly wonderful, particularly from April to October when we are outside on your terrasse, breathing in the fresh air and looking up at the sky. You are so generous in providing the extras that we need to maximize our comfort and our ability to focus on our pilates, from sunscreen and towels during the summer to warm socks in the fall. You push us to push ourselves harder without becoming a drill sergeant.

You are flexible in your approach to pilates, wanting us to focus on the basics but also knowing when to mix it up a little.  Your trips to pilates conventions, though costly to you, show us that you are constantly looking for ways to offer the best possible pilates instruction.  And your personal strength is an inspiration to us all.

I have been active all my life, from team sports as a child to aerobics as a young adult. Now, as a 40+ woman, I find pilates at your studio offers a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the gym experience.  Because pilates is so technical in terms of positioning and breathing, the mind-body connection is very strong and I find this to be both demanding and fulfilling. By combining pilates with my own walking and running, I think I’ve found the perfect combination for my own mental and physical fitness.

In short, I send you a huge thank you for being who and what you are. I’m so glad to have found you and pilates.  All the best!

I have been with Chantal, Pilates Sur Mesure, for almost 2 years now. I decided to take up Pilates after reading about its benefits. I work in a physically demanding environment, and have found myself suffering from some minor back pains. After having spoken to her, I realized that her classes were different form some of the other places I had called. I found that our conversation focused more on my problem areas, how she could help, and what I was hoping to achieve. I had not had any interaction of the sort with the other places; rather, I felt they were more after how many people they could squeeze in a class.  After having begun Pilates with Chantal, I noticed a difference after a month. My back pains had substantially reduced, because I (Chantal and I) concentrated on my abdomen, and my posture. The reason I say Chantal and I, is, contrary to any other classes I have joined in the past, she focuses on her students individually. Rather than you watching her, she is watching you! She corrects you by placing you, and actually explains and makes you feel the difference. I never have to worry about doing my Pilates in the wrong way.

I especially enjoy her Walkilates classes. If you have ever noticed a group of women waddling like ducks, crossing the street, well, that’s Chantal’s Waliklates! She combines Pilates with Cardio. Now that I am pregnant, Walkilates is very benificial. As for other Pilates moves, she modifies them for me, all the while reminding me to listen to my body. She works with me, and each one in the group. That’s why it’s called Pilates Sur Mesure…it’s made to measure for me, and could be for you. Come join!
